Areas covered include:
- Word Basics – editing text, moving and copying text, saving and printing documents
- Additional Features – using the find tool, spelling checker, templates and help feature
- Formatting Text – simple text formatting, enhancing and modifying text layout
- Formatting Pages – adding headers and footers, changing document views
- Working with Tables – creating and formatting a table
- Working with Objects – inserting and moving an object, adding an AutoShape
- Using Mail Merge – Creating a mailing list and a merged mail document

Target Audience
Individuals, Companies and employees of organisations of any size wishing to improve computer skills.
Duration
It is estimated that this module will take approximately 10 hours to complete (depending on learning speed). As an e-learning module you can complete this training in convenient stages and revisit whenever you wish. The system will record your progress throughout. You have six months to complete the training and associated test.
Certification
When you have successfully completed your course, you will be able to print out a Virtual College certificate. If you then wish to go on to take the official BCS (British Computer Society) test as part of the full ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) seven module qualification, please follow this link to find a BCS Test Centre in your area as you will need to take the invigilated test by visiting the test centre.
